Autumn Bucket List

I think it’s nice at the start of a new season to put some focus on what you’re doing with the spare minutes of your life. As Ferris Bueller once said, “life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and take a look around once in a while, you might miss it”. I’ve made a lot of decisions using the WWFBD (what would Ferris Bueller do) method and it’s served me well enough.

So I’ve taken some time to compile a list of everything I’d like to get stuck into during Autumn. I’m avoiding the word “goals” because this list isn’t about freaking me out or replicating an office-like personal development plan, it’s about building up a few things to look forward to over the coming months.

Do more yoga

I love yoga, or perhaps I should say I love the idea of yoga.. My boyfriend bought me Yoga For You about a month ago and I found reading the history and mantras behind the practice completely fascinating. I did asanas once every day for about a week, and my practice has dropped down to pretty much nothing since then. So I’d love to get back on the mat and make yoga a permanent fixture in my life for a healthier body and mind.

I still haven’t read Mindless Eating, so I should probably add that to the list too. But I’d really like to learn more about the behavioral psychology behind eating, particularly the negative and self destructive kind.

 Cook recipes from..

The Art of Eating Well, Morito, Plenty More

Little need be said on this one, these are the hottest recipe book releases of the year as far as I’m concerned so I can’t wait to throw myself into them!

 Finish some festive stitching projects

Christmas Cross Stitch

I’m a keen cross stitcher, my Grandmother taught me how when I was very young and it’s been something I’ve enjoyed right through to adulthood. It’s also proved to be a very effective way of settling ADHD-ness over the years, so if you or your kid is on the spectrum, I recommend giving it a try! I love starting things but I so rarely finish them, and this year I want to have lots of lovely finished projects to give to friends and family.

Things to look forward to..

  • I’m off to bath at the end of October for a weekend away, I’ve heard great things and can’t wait to explore, so if you have any must-visits make sure you send them my way!
  • The Cosmo Blog Awards are right around the corner, the ceremony is Tuesday night – everyone keep your fingers crossed for me!
  • The Christmas Foodies Festival is coming up in November and I’m 100% filled with childlike excitement in anticipation – keep your eyes peeled on my Twitter page for a competition coming up soon..

What are your plans for Autumn?

I’d love to hear all about ’em.

Thanks for reading x
