It’s here, it’s happening, I’m totally excited about Christmas. I’ve been having bundles of fun over the past couple of weeks browsing the internet on the hunt for my favourite treats on the market this year and I’ve finally narrowed it down to just 5. Without further ado, here’s the best of the shelves for 2014!
1 – Mini Christmas Trees
These look and sound like a better version of Millionaire’s Shortbread (which I love dearly) and are topped with ‘shimmered chocolate honey covered honeycomb’ – I can’t quite wrap my head around those words but they make me want to eat.
£13 for 6 from Marks and Spencer
2 – Christmas Jumper Chocolate Slab
Christmas wouldn’t be the same without a cheeky treat from Hotel Chocolat, they make hands down the best quality chocolate I’ve ever eaten and this slab is wicked. It’d make a great gift for the stroppy member of the family who simply refuses to wear a Christmas jumper..
£5 for 100g at Hotel Chocolat
3 – Buck’s Fizz Marmalade
For some reason this product has been met with much controversy, what could one possibly dislike about glitter and champagne marmalade? I’m totally getting this in readiness for December brunches..
£7.95 at Fortnum & Mason
4 – Marzipan Brussel Sprouts
No one really honestly likes brussel sprouts, but everyone loves eating stuff that looks like other stuff. Just ask Heston Blumenthal..
The Royal British Legion Chocolate Bar
This is £1 at Sainsbury’s and all profits go to the Royal British Legion, the advert seems to have divided the nation (if you haven’t seen it then I applaud you for not watching TV like ever, click here to check it out). To be honest, I’m still undecided as to where I stand on using the beautiful temporary truce at Christmas in 1914 to sell stuff, but I definitely don’t have a problem with buying chocolate and giving to charity at the same time.
What are your top picks for this Christmas? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for reading x
Dare I admit I genuinely like Brussels sprouts!? It’s so true about eating things that look like other things though – the marzipan sprouts look so cool!
Wow – I’m quite sure you’re in the minority! And I love the marzipan sprouts, pretty inspired! x
I work at Hotel Chocolat and I pretty much recommend allll of the Christmas products. Have you tried the alternative mince pies? Oh good lord. I love the sparkly marmalade if not just for the sparkle!
I am extremely jealous of your occupation.. Tell me more about these alternative mince pies!!
