If you’re big on hot sauce, you might wanna stay tuned on Cate in the Kitchen over the next few days because I’m using Tabasco sauce to have a whole lot of #FunWithFlavour – a three course meal of fun. That’s right, three courses.
Tonight I’m introducing you to my starter, tomorrow you’ll meet the main course and on Monday you’ll be drooling over my dessert – excited? Me too.
Before Tabasco invited me to take part in this awesome campaign, I’d never considered it as more than a very welcome addition to my favourite pizzas; so it was super fun to come up with some creative ways to use it in three different courses. The first of my Tabasco recipes is insanely light, so damn healthy and totally delicious, so without further ado…
Serves 2
1 cucumber, spiralised
150g plain yoghurt
1 tbsp green pepper Tabasco
2 tsps chopped mint
100g feta
4 tbsps pomegranate seeds
- If you happen to have a spiraliser, you should be looking at a plate of beautiful cucumber ribbons already. If you don’t, use a vegetable peeler to make a rough-around-the-edges version of spiralised cucumber.
- Combine the yoghurt, Tabasco and chopped mint in a bowl and pour over your cucumber, toss (very gently, the cuc is tres delicate) to coat.
- Divide the cucumber ribbons between two plates and serve with feta crumbled on top and a scattering of pomegranate seeds.
Easy, right? Before I go I want to say a huge thank you to you all for being patient with me while my laptop was dying/being brought back to life, sorry for the recent lack of recipes and I hope you enjoy the barrage to come!
P.S – don’t forget to check out the hashtag #FunWithFlavour on Twitter and Instagram to see what all the other bloggers get up to!

Nice. Given that I’m still trying to decide on just WHICH damn spiralizer, is there a model you could recommend, please? Or move me away from, if not! Thanks -being optimistic here!😀
Hey 🙂 I used Spiralo for this recipe and I love it. Think It’s just under £30 on Amazon (in UK) completely functional, three different cutting shapes and doesn’t waste any of the veggies x

Thank you! That’s the downward pressure one, isn’t it? The exact one at the top of my list so far 😁 Want to be able to make root veg linguine/papardelle sort of strips ideally, not just “spaghetti”: is there a suitable size blade? Sharp enough to cope with celeriac/beets/parsnip etc?
Thank you so much -it’s a massive help. I WORRY over decisions.
Beautiful! Excellent use of colours.
Thanks man, high praise indeed!
