The best food combination in the world ever according to me | CITK Bites

It’s not that bold a statement if you say “according to me” right?

Quick intro to this blog post, I’m going to try a new thing where on Thursdays I post really short little bites about something (anything) food related to get a conversation going. So I hope you enjoy it, let me know what you think, and please join in – even if you’re really really new!!

I’ve shared this combo on Instagram and Twitter a couple times, and it always causes quite a stir.

Not a negative stir, of course, I’m not known for causing those. It just seems as though people have never heard of such a thing as combining marmite with houmous.

Which is weird, because I feel like I’ve been doing it forever and it’s the most normal, natural, obvious thing in the world. It was pretty much a staple combo in my family from super-early childhood.

It’s amazing on toast, in sandwiches, on ricecakes (loving these corn cakes from Kallo lately), on crackers, from a spoon, etc..

So anyway, the point of this blog post is to ask you: have you ever tried marmite and houmous? Or am I the weirdest person ever?

If you haven’t, please please please try it and tell me I’m not crazy.

Over and out.

I’d never thought of that but I want to try it! I love marmite and cream cheese on toast so I’d imagine this would taste good too.

That said, my favourite flavour combinations usually feature something sweet! Maple and pecan, bananas and custard, coffee and chocolate, I could go on (I’m very indecisive so if never just pick one!)

Oh you should definitely give it a try then. I used to like cream cheese and bramble jelly sandwiches too but I haven’t had one for years!

  2. I commented on your instagram about the peanut butter and marmite. That is so good on toast and crumpets. Now I feel a craving coming on! Like i said i have never tried marmite and houmous. But maybe I should.:) New follower ~ Sharon.x

  4. Tried it and it was surprisingly good. I’m not sure it’s the best combination in the world ever (I’d still choose sweet things for that) but I’d definitely have it again.

    • Yay I’m so glad you tried it! I wouldn’t expect *everyone* to be as into it as I am but I’m v happy that you liked it πŸ™‚
