If you’ve been here a while, you might know that I spent my bonus on a juicer last year. It’s time for me to tell you that it is, for real, my most regretted purchase ever.
I must have used that baby around twenty times or so, if that. It’s been sitting on the shelf next to the bathroom, dormant, for at least six months. Don’t judge me too hard though, I know I’m not the only one who got caught up in the juicing bubble long enough to actually buy one of the damn things.
We make mistakes, we learn, this is life.
It was the hassle, guys, have you seen those things? They’re big. And you have to clean a bazillion different parts after one juicing session. It’s just so dramatic and fancy and high maintenance, you know? That’s not my kind of gadget. Nobody has time for that.
I’m ready for the new(ish) kid on the block. The super blender situation. High speed, compact, dare I say efficient? Can I be that person? I’m doing it.
Enter this guy.
This is a fun blender. I know you know about it already, even I’d heard of it and you know how terrible I am at knowing things.
We’re talking about the Nutri Ninja.
F.Y.I, it’s £20 off at Steamer Trading right now too so.. you’re welcome.
I’ve been playing with this a lot. It arrived like, a week ago and already I’ve made a few smoothies, a pasta sauce, a couple small batches of soup and veggie burgers. Oh, and squash purée. It’s just so bloody quick! Absolutely my new favourite toy.
Will it stay that way? I really can’t tell you for sure. I think it will. It’s so small that it’s not going to be forced into the back of a cupboard any time soon, and it’s so quick to clean post-blitzing that I’m never gonna get a serious case of “can’t be arsed” when I think about using it.
You can watch it in action in this Vine if you want (follow me on there for various fizzing, spluttering, frying video bites, you get the idea).
While we’re on the subject, have a smoothie recipe:
Pumpkin Spice Smoothie (yep, you heard)
1 banana, chopped
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp honey
1 cup soya milk
1/2 cup pecans (toast them if you can be bothered, it makes a difference)
Blend. If you’re using the Nutri Ninja it’ll be less than 30 seconds.
Let’s talk about this. Did you buy a juicer? Do you still use it? What else can I use this blender for? Get involved in the comments or find me on all of the social medias..
The Nutri Ninja was very kindly sent to me by the guys and girls over at Steamer Trading, how cool is that? Goes without saying that the content is mine because really, who else do you know that writes this beautifully?
