Happy New Year, Happy New Sunday..
I hope the booze blues have just about left your system and you’ve managed to get your appetite back to almost normal after Christmas. It ain’t easy, I’m only just barely there.
I haven’t taken many pictures or made a mental note of much to tell you this week, because is there anything more dysfunctional than a human being in the days between Christmas and New Year? I’ve done my best though, so here we go..
Good things that happened this week
- I saw in the New Year with two of my favourite people in the world (these idiots). I mean I don’t remember it, but I know we were all there, and that’s what counts.
- I found a few restaurants on Deliveroo that have loads of vegan menu options. I’m looking forward to trying one or two and reviewing them for Veganuary purposes..
- I got almost no emails.
That’s a very short list. Because, you know, #PostChristmasBlues.
And Then There Were None
Did you see it? If you didn’t, I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to stop reading this and watch all three episodes immediately. It’s nice to be reminded of how lucky we are to have the BBC.
It’s an Agatha Christie whodunnit (and a bloody good one at that) featuring Aidan Turner and other beautiful people that had me quite literally on the edge of my seat every night. I won’t give anything away but it’s amazing. Watch it. Please.
The Prettiest Tea Caddy
Isn’t it though? Williamson Tea sent me over one of their beautiful tea caddies to try (this one specifically) and it’s made it to the shelf above the kettle, I made actual room for it to go on actual display, that’s how gorgeous it is. The tea inside (ginger grove) is lovely too. It’s a black tea, which I’ve been drinking with a little soya milk just-after-lunch-ish and thoroughly enjoying. It’s been a nice transition from Christmas tea to normal-time-of-year tea.
I bought vegan cheese..
And I’ve been too chicken to try it. Everything I make that could arguably be topped with vegan cheese has gone un-cheesed because I’m scared of ruining it.. I promise I’ll try it soon and blog all about it.
Green smoothies are back in
I’m being so January. Green smoothies all the way, I’ve been using the recipe from the Food52 vegan cookbook that has frozen mango and avocado and spinach and it’s creamy, delicious and making me feel super smug.
