Review | Afternoon Tea at The Salt Room

The Salt Room has been a permanent fixture on Brighton seafront for two years now. It’s a successful second endeavour from the team behind The Coal Shed, highly esteemed steak restaurant on Boyce’s St. Unlike its sister restaurant, The Salt Room has a heavy focus on seafood, so their take on afternoon tea was bound to be a unique one. We stopped by yesterday afternoon to give it a try, here’s what went down. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by a delightfully sunny member of the front of house staff who checked our coats, told us how amazing everybody thinks the afternoon tea is and led us to our table (naturally lit with a sea view, an Instagrammer’s wet dream). Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market 2016

On Friday, my Nan treated me to a whole day in Winchester, wandering around the Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market. It was as you’d expect; very cold, idyllically picturesque and incredibly festive. I can’t imagine a better way to have kicked off advent! There’s not much to write, and I thought you’d probably appreciate a little break from my ramblings actually, so I’m just throwing in all the best pictures from the day to make you feel all warm and twinkly and festive. I hope it works. 20 sleeps to go! See you this week for (hopefully) a Christmas recipe. Twitter // Instagram // Facebook // Bloglovin’ // Vine

I’ve been having the same conversation with a good 75% of my friends since before the summer. “We go to the same clubs every single weekend” someone will say to general agreement. “We live in Brighton, there’s so much to do here” another will add, to more nodding. “We should really start doing different stuff” somebody else will decide, and we’ll all come away with a renewed sense of endeavour to experience more of what the city we live in has to offer. This, of course, would disappear by early evening on Friday and we’d continue to do the same thing we did every night anyway. Up until recently.. Last weekend, I went to Fright Festival and had an amazing time. This Saturday, I took a couple of my girlfriends along to the Gin Festival at the Clarendon Centre for an evening of alcohol discovery. Round of applause for finally sticking to our guns and not making each weekend a reenactment of the last, please? Thank you. On arrival, we were given our welcome packs …
