Have I gone too far this time? I mean yeah, probably. This weird little snack is worlds away from cheese and marmite pasta or marmite roast potatoes, and it probably won’t be as crowd pleasing as either – this is niche AF, you’re really gonna love it or hate it.
The salty, savoury hit from both the crisps and the marmite are met with a little sweetness and a little bitterness in the form of good quality dark chocolate. This is the kind of nibble that would have your dinner party talked about for a long, long time to come.
They’re pretty easy to knock up. Just melt together some chocolate and marmite, dip some crisps in there and chill until set. I recommend using ridged chips (I use ALDI own brand but McCoy’s will do the job nicely) and a good quality dark chocolate, 60% cocoa solids or higher.
I cannot wait to here what you make of these. So, without further ado..
2 packs ready salted ridged crisps
100g good quality dark chocolate
1 tsp marmite
- Put the marmite and dark chocolate in a glass bowl set above a saucepan filled with water. Do not allow the bowl to touch the water. Get some heat under it and leave it to melt.
- Dip the crisps in the melted chocolate and marmite and lay on some non-stick baking paper. Once the whole batch is done, sit in the fridge until set.
