Happy Sunday

I’m back in England. Boo. Hoo. I’ve had the holiday blues from the moment I stepped off that ferry. It may have a lot to do with the fact that as soon as you alight a ferry from Dieppe, you find yourself in Newhaven (it’s an absolute shithole, we can’t very well beat around that bush). It may also have something to do with the hangover that was soon to kick in because we got incredibly drunk off £3 white wine from the ferry shop that we weren’t technically supposed to drink on the ferry. However, the holiday blues have failed at overshadowing my baseline level of happiness as a result of the lovely time we had in France together. We celebrated two birthdays and Valentines Day and not a thing went wrong, it was the perfect trip. It even had the perfect ending, just look at how beautiful everything was as we pulled out of the ferry port.. I know I’ve overused the word perfect already but truly, that’s what it was. I’m struggling …

Happy Sunday

I’ve spent a lot of the week being one of those insufferable women that goes out dressed for entirely the wrong season and then complains of the cold. I’m not even sorry, I like my tiny brown suede spring jacket and I’ll wear it whenever I please even if the blood in my wrists freezes solid – I’m fairly sure that this has actually happened once or twice. Did we talk about the Fempire Podcast (since renamed Ladygang because copyright) already? Listening to badass, sexy, successful women is a very productive thing to do during your working week. Promise. In the past couple of weeks I finally reached a healthy BMI according to the NHS calculator. I’m mulling over writing a post about my as yet undocumented journey in that arena, if you’d be interested to hear about it.. let me know. I’ve decided that dancing like a …

Vegan Creamy, Garlicky, Lemony, Green Pasta Sauce on Cate in the Kitchen

Vegan Creamy, Garlicky, Lemony, Green Pasta Sauce

I have made this pasta dish twice this week because it’s super easy and it makes me feel smug to eat two types of greens in one go. It’s also a pretty great go-to for me because each of these 5 ingredients are things that I almost always have in.  The pictures I’ve managed to get of this recipe are just not ideal, but my desire to share it with you overpowers my desire to look like I take really great pictures of food so whatever. Here we are. I should warn you that the 1 garlic clove in this sauce is raw, and therefore packs a punch both flavour-wise and odour-wise. If you’re not into that, just go ahead and skip it. Personally, I love it. And raw garlic is increds good for you, so that’s why it’s in there. You’ll notice that I’m using soya cream again (I used it in my squash pasta sauce last week). There’s been a carton of the stuff in my fridge at all time throughout Veganuary, I will …
