I have a few thoughts and opinions on festive consumerism this year. I’m mulling them and turning them and twisting them over in my brain, and I’m not sure that I’ve quite settled on how to correctly articulate what it is that really bothers me about it – or why it’s suddenly surfaced this year. I also don’t want to be one of those Internet charmers that preach at people just because they’ve recently had some kind of crisis of conscience, because they always come across as dicks, whether they are or not. All you need to know is that I’ve been inspired to try and throw as many ideas out there as possible for homemade Christmas gifts that won’t cost a bomb this year, and this is the first of them.
