Healthy Hemp, Honey & Almond Granola

Granola is great, but good granola is hella expensive, so this recipe brings together odds and ends that you might have in the cupboard (if you’re a nuts and seeds person) and creates a good granola on the cheap (sort of). Little note on the ingredients, I’ve used hemp oil instead of sunflower (the standard granola oil) cause its good for you and stuff, and I can’t taste a difference, so I recommend you do that. I picked up some local honey at the Foodies Festival this weekend courtesy of Blackman Bee Farm, local honey is an insanely good hayfever antidote and its likely to be 6708% better quality than branded stuff, so if you can get your hands on some near you its worth buying! Nuts’n’Seeds

OK so I bought a bag of hemp seeds weeks ago and I’ve been ignoring them ever since, what do you do with them? How do they work? What do they taste like? Are some of the things I would murmur in panic under my breath when they caught my eye as I reached for some peanut butter. Today, in light of recent chocolate indulgence, it was time to bit the bullet. All I’ve done here is toast a killer combo of nuts and seeds and added salt, do not be underwhelmed due to its simplicity, this is a good good thing. 2 handfuls walnuts 2 handfuls hemp seeds 2 handfuls pistachio nuts 2 handfuls sunflower seeds Get them on a chopping board, crush them up a bit leaving some large chunks here and there. Put some heat under a frying pan and just straight up dry fry them for about 10 minutes.
