Three Chilli Salmon and Stir-Fried Broccoli with Cucumber & Mango Salad

This looks amazing, this tastes amazing, this is amazing. And I shall tell you for why, the oil found in salmon has been shown to cut leptin levels and help your body process foods more effectively and of course it’s full of our good friend omega 3, also salmon when cooked to perfection (which this is, of course) is pretty much unbeatable.  I should probably explain the three chilli concept, in this dish I used fresh and organic chillis, chilli flakes, and chilli oil – as I’ve mentioned this week, hot and spicy ingredients are great for picking up the pace of your metabolism. The water content in cucumber (similar to melon) is what makes it a metabolism winner, and mango just adds inexplicable deliciousness to the whole vibe. Overall, I’ve done a pretty stand up job of making this entire meal metabolism conscious so give it a try! Serves 3 – with leftovers for lunch 3 salmon fillets 2 tbsps grated ginger 2 chillis 2 cloves garlic 200g mango handful chilli flakes few drizzles chilli oil 1 …

Thyme and Lime Roasted Chicken with Baked Sweet Potato

As far as I’m concerned, sweet potato is one of the most under rated staple foods in this country. Compared with your average potato, they contain less calories and carbohydrates, and are packed with antioxidants that are linked to disease prevention. And what do they have to do with metabolism boosters week? Which leads me to today’s recipe, this is a winner on so many levels. I’ve added extra heat to the chicken and the yoghurt dressing because it’s now widely known that spicy foods can considerably increase your metabolism. I will add here that really, I should have included some greens in this meal, but …

Little Liv’s Superfood Salad

My little sister is home from college for the Easter Holidays and wanted to get involved in metabolism boosters week, so she knocked up this Superfood Salad. What you see before you may seem to be an unusual combination of flavours, but each has its own health benefit and it makes for a very tasty lunch or snacking platter. 1/2 Avocado – boosts the metabolism by protecting the energy-producing part of cells according to Elle. Handful Blueberries – full of great antioxidants, which your body can use to clear free radicals. Handful Walnuts – These contain around seven grams of protein per ounce, making them the best choice for boosting the metabolism says Daniel Bartlett at Huffington Post. 1 Peeled Beetroot – Not a specified metabolism booster, but a certified superfood due to its ability to cleanse and aid digestion. 2 tbsps Pomegranate Seeds – Rich with vitamin A, B and C, all metabolism boosters. 2 Slivers of Cheddar – Cheese is never going to be a health food *sigh* but, calcium is a diet essential. Few Squares Dark Chocolate – Don’t …
