We’re Going to LoveFit Festival 2017

Call me crazy, but I think I’ve found a festival that will have you feeling better when you leave than you did when you arrived – and I’m down for it. LoveFit is coming our way 28-31st July at the St Clere Estate in Kent. There’s a musical presence in the evening but – in a UK first – their main focus is fitness, with special classes running throughout Saturday and Sunday. If you’d have told me three years ago that in 2017 I’d be willingly attending a festival dedicated to fitness I’d have laughed in your face – probably inadvertantly spraying you with cake crumbs – and dismissed such silliness immediately. My life is looking pretty different now: I pay attention to what I’m eating from a health perspective, I walk as far and as often as I can, and I love a good session on the yoga mat. So, I kind of feel like fitness and me are ready to take things to the next level, and this festival looks like it’s gonna …

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday

Good Morning, losers. While you read this, I’m in London celebrating the very 1st birthday of one of my very favourite babies. I hope you’ve got equally lovely plans. Here’s some stuff. On repeat this week: I miss my baby sister already, and this song reminds me of her sitting in her room and ignoring me, so I’m listening to it a lot. Also, Real by Years and Years has basically been the soundtrack to my weekend so far (s/o to Jess for bringing it to my attention). You know I go crazy for food science. This super long article about perfecting smooth hummus did good things for me. I love any and all “what’s in their fridge” articles, here’s one from this week – and it’s a bloody book excerpt! What a time to be alive. This weather though If you’ve never been to Brighton, or known anybody that lived here, then you might not know about the Brighton in the summer phenomenon. It gets pretty special out here once the sun gets warm and the …

Hey, Check This Out

Happy Sunday I’m finally accepting the New Year and I’ve almost stopped crying myself to sleep whilst singing “where are you Christmas” by Cindy-Lou Who. It takes me longer than most, that’s just who I am. In all seriousness though, it’s been a great week. Let’s talk about small sections of it in not a lot of detail. Good things that happened this week I finally published the recipe for vegan fajitas. Women’s Health Magazine has dropped the phrase “bikini body” from their publication now and forever. Magazines have been the toxic frenemies of women for too long, I hope to see more steps forward like this in the near future. I bought Molly a new toy and it made her wag her tail for about 10 straight minutes. It’s a little ducky made of rope and it was worth every penny of the £3 it cost. I listened to a lovely/funny/very very British programme every day this week on Radio 4 with David Mitchell. It’s about manners. Find it here. Jess and Josh cooked …
